Arne Wieding, „Reign of Steel “ (Yoone GbR)
Bigpoint: How much easier did the DevLounge make it for you to enter the market?
Arne:
Thanks to our game’s integration into the Bigpoint portal we gained several hundred active players after just a few short days.
This gave us a lot of really useful experience which we can utilize to constantly improve our product.
At this point, we still hadn’t invested any money into any marketing, but we were still able to record over 2,000 new accounts in just a week-and-a-half.
A large number of these accounts came through Bigpoint.
Bigpoint: You’re planning your international rollout with Devlounge.
Which languages would you like to have your future games available in when you go to market?
Arne:
In addition to German and English, we would like to offer our games in Spanish, French and Russian at first.
Later on, we’d like to have many of the other relevant languages, too.
The DevLounge makes it very easy, because you can set up and manage all the texts and graphics in any language.
Bigpoint: Would you recommend Devlounge to your other developer friends?
Arne:
Yes, we would! It’s definitely a win-win situation. Bigpoint doesn’t demand any extra fees, but instead just takes part in the game’s success.
You’re given access to an enormous community of players without any upfront costs.
If the game makes money, Bigpoint gets a bit of it, and if not, they don’t. This is a major advantage for unknown developers since they usually don’t have much marketing.
